Since enlisting in the Air Force in 1957, Sergeant Bet-enson's Bet-enson's assignments have included Japan, Germany, It- aly, and Vietnam. While sta-tioned sta-tioned with the North Atlantic Atlant-ic Treaty Organization headquarters head-quarters in Bltburg, Germany, Germa-ny, in 1961, he met his future fu-ture wife Jeanne. Today, the Betensons have three sons: Michael, 10; Mark, 6; and Alexander, 4. Beaver Native Gets Top Air Force Recruiting Post A Beaver, Utah native has been chosen as the new superintendent sup-erintendent of U. S. Air Force Recruiting Service in the intermountain west. Master Sergeant Eddy N. Betenson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Garn Betenson of Beaver, Beav-er, will supervise some 35 Air Force recruiting sergeants ser-geants in 24 recruiting offices of-fices located in cities throughout Utah, Idaho, Montana, Mon-tana, eastern Oregon and eastern Washington. The promotion marks the third promotion Sergeant Betenson has received since joining Recruiting Service in November 1971. At that .- r time he . was appointed as non-commissioned officer in charge of the Salt Lake City Recruiting Office. Then, in April 1972, he was promoted promot-ed to supervisor of all Air Force . recruiting in Utah. Serfeant Betenson attributes attrib-utes his phenomenal success in recruiting to two main factors: the people of Utah and his love for the Air Force. "Growing up in Utah, as I did, one naturally acquires from friends and family a deep love of country and the responsibility that goes with that love," the veteran career ca-reer airman said in his Salt Lake City office.
