Mr. Jensen presented the Milford High School Science Award to Joyce Martin and the Electronic Vocational Award to Richard Smith. Mr. Willden presented the Math award to Peggy Easton. Mr. Rimpau presented the awards from the Southern Utah Stats College Family Life Day to the following: Story telling for 4 and 5 year olds went to Patti Stoddard Stod-dard and Peggy Easton, who received Second Place. In the sewing contest 1st place went to Lois Price, 2nd place to Ann Coates and 3rd place to LuAnn Jimenez. The biscuit baking contest brought a 2nd place to Connie Mayer and 3rd place to Ann Coates. The test of Family Life Knowledge and Attitudes Award went to Wayne McCulley; Mc-Culley; and the Homemaking Award to the top scholastic person in Homemaking was awarded to Ann Coates. The Business Awards was presented by Mary McCulley: Mc-Culley: Shorthand One Team won 1st place in the region, and 3rd place in SUSC competition. com-petition. The team consisted of Shauna Banks, Julie Al-brecht, Al-brecht, Connie Mayer, Cindy Jones, and Cheryl Jones was the alternate. Julie Albrecht also won a 3rd place individual indi-vidual award In the Shorthand Short-hand One Contest in Region Eight. Senior Typewriting award went to Connie Mayer, Senior Shorthand award went to Carol Nelson, and the Senior Business award to the student stu-dent who has taken all Business Busi-ness classes with the highest achievement went to Carol Nelson. Mr. Gay presented a special spe-cial Wrestling A ward to Russell Rus-sell Yardley; other Wrestling Wrest-ling Letter awards went to Randy Hiatt, Shaun Symond, Roger Hatch, Scott Symond, The Annual MHS Awards Assembly was overshadowed by the sixth place State Basketball Bas-ketball Trophy, which was on display throughout the assembly. as-sembly. The sixth place finish, highest ever for an MHS squad, garnered no trophy but one was purchased by the school to commemorate the achievement. Steve Workman garnered the most awards in extracurricular extra-curricular activities, with honors in athletics, band, drama and a scholarship to SUSC for leadership. Joyce Martin, Ann Coates, Connie Mayer and Peggy Easton achieved the most scholastic honors, with Miss Martin receiving a tuition scholarship to BYU, and cash scholarships from the Milford Mil-ford State Bank and the Cedar City Elks Club. Others given special mention men-tion at the Fair were Todd Lister, Russel Rose, Mark Whitney, Ken Jones, Connie Bradshaw, Louise Prodzin-ski, Prodzin-ski, Steve Wilson, Nick Leko, SUSC, and the Milford State Bank and Elks cash scholarships, scholar-ships, while Miss Mayer received re-ceived a full tuition scholarship scholar-ship to SUSC. Swain presented the Social Studies award to Melodie Prodzinski, and the Milford City Youth Committee Com-mittee Service awards to Carol Nelson and Steve Workman. Mrs. Miller gave the Editor Ed-itor Award to Patti Stoddard and the Pep Club Award to Joyce Martin. Mrs. Elmer presented the English Award to Joyce Martin, the Cheerleader Award to Connie Mayer, and the Yearbook Editor Award to Marie Lowe. Mr. Jensen and Mr. Wil-den Wil-den presented the awards to the participants of the Southern South-ern Utah Regional Fair.
