Show REORGANIZE OR GIVE UP CHARTER AUXILIARY ASKED Reorganize and become active or turn in the Charter? will be the question put to American Legion Auxiliary members Friday evening at 8:00 p.m., according to Vera Cooper, President of the faltering fal-tering organization. The meeting will be held at her home. The Auxiliary has been a strong and vital organization organiza-tion in Milford for many years, she said, but in recent re-cent years, interest has been low. Membership has fallen off and even those who pay their dues won't show up at meetings or work on projects. pro-jects. It has become too much for one person, Mrs. Cooper Coop-er said. She has almost single-handedly been keeping keep-ing the charter active for several years. She said she had tried to keep it alive so that local girls would be eligible for Girls' State. However, she said she could get little help with the Poppy sales this year, and decoration of the Veteran's graves Memorial Mem-orial Day was too much of a burden on one person. Part of the problem is that Post 16 is also inactive, surviving only for the purpose pur-pose of Boys' State. So, Mrs. Cooper warns, if you want to keep the Auxiliary Aux-iliary and Girls' State, attend at-tend the meeting in her home on Friday and lend your support sup-port to reorganizing the group, or the Charter will be returned. |
