Show PVT. JONES IN "PROUD RIFLES" Private David C. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jones was awarded a Certificate of Achievement as the Outstanding Outstand-ing Soldier of his Basic Combat Com-bat Training Cycle. This distinction dis-tinction was earned through his demonstration of both physical phy-sical and mental prowess throughout the conduct of his basic training. It is a measure of his superior super-ior attitude, and ability, in the United States Army, the certificate reads, and entitles him to a place of honor amoung the ranks of the "Proud Rifles." Pvt. Jones garnered 288 points out of a possible 300 for the highest marks in his company. He was a squad leader lead-er in Company D. He remained at Fort Dix for additional training. Ironically, runner-up for the award in Dave's company was another Beaver County boy, Pvt. Rodney Green with 287 pointj. |
