Show DRESS CODE, CALENDAR FOCUS OF SCHOOL BOARD The Northwest Accreditation Report was read to the Board of Education at its recent meeting, meet-ing, and both schools were approved with comment. It was noted that Milford's media center (library) needed more volumes for its enrollment enroll-ment and that eight Beaver teachers needed more prepara- tion for the classes they were teaching. The Board adopted the col-endar col-endar for next school year with both schools starting on Aug. 30 next year. Other business conducted was the board asked the Supt. to, have representatives of the secretaries, sec-retaries, lunch workers and custodians cus-todians meet with the board at its next meeting. Requested the Supt. to arrange ar-range teacher negotiation meeting. meet-ing. Supt. Bliss presented the results re-sults of a dress survey that had been made in Beaver. The survey sur-vey showed that - the parents and townspeople supported school dress standards by a ereat maioritv. Thp board auth- orized Supt. Bliss to work out a dress standard policy for the school district in cooperation with principals and citizens of tho county. Read letter from Principal Long which stated that the custodian cus-todian did not have time to water the baseball field at Milford. Mil-ford. It was moved that a young person be hired to do the job. Moved by Yardley that two rooms be remodeled and fur- nished at Beaver High and at Milford High schools during the ensuing summer. 2nd by Lamb and passed. |
