LANDS ACQUIRED BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT As a result of exchanges of land to accomodate management objectives 15,582.52 acres in seven sev-en counties of Utah have been reconveyed to the United States. The exchanges will tend to block up both federal and private pri-vate holdings and facilitate management, according to Robert Rob-ert D. Nielson, Bureau of Land Management state director for Utah. One exchange in Daggett County, for example, will provide pro-vide better public access to public lands on Diamond Mountain. Moun-tain. Another, in Carbon County, Coun-ty, will block up in state ownership own-ership lands on a very critical winter deer range. Mr. Nielson said the lands acquired by the federal government govern-ment are not suitable for farming farm-ing and have been classified for retention in federal ownership owner-ship for management under multiple use principles. They are in Beaver, Box Elder, Carbon, Car-bon, Daggett, Garfield, Millard and Washington Counties. Further information concerning concern-ing these public lands can be obtained from the BLM state or district offices. jv .
