Will the 216 num- . j lw apply when I enter the j pool in 1973 or will that year's number control? A.: The random sequence I number you acquired in the ; December 1969 drawing wi'l ' apply so long as you remain I subject to induction for mili- 1 tary service. Q. Presently I am in Class II-A but this deferment will expire on Feb. 28, 1970. I have number 306 from the lottery. I will become 26 on May 1, 1970. If the local board does not reach my number before my 26th birthday, what will niy status be? A. If the local board has not reached your number before your 26th birthday, you will, upon reaching age 26, leave the pool of those ava'lable foir Induction as part of the 1970 first priority selection group. Q. Q. Will there by any more drawings? A. Yes. A new random sequence se-quence will be made for each cal?ndar year for those attaining attain-ing the age of 19. Q. My birthday in the lottery lot-tery gave me sequence number 325 and I will be in Class I-A next year. Can I count on j not being inducted in 1970? I A. No, because the total I manpower requirements are I not known and cannot be reasonably reas-onably estimated at this time. Q. I have random sequence number 75. When my local board inducts me will other local boards be inducting registrants with this same sequence se-quence number? A. Not necessarily. It is expected that all local boards will be proceeding at about the same pace, but because local boards have varying percentages percent-ages of their registrants in deferred de-ferred status, and do not have the same number of registrants with the same birthdays, they may not be inducting at any one time all available registrants regis-trants with a particular random ran-dom sequence number. I A. In the event that two or more men have the same birth tote within a local board, their sequence of induction will be determined by the first letter let-ter of their names (last name and, if necessary, first name) which have been arranged in a random sequence of the alphabet al-phabet established during the drawing that was conducted Dec. 1, 19G9. Q- I am 19 years old, have no basis for deferment, and have sequence number 300. If' I am not inducted in 1970, can 1 be inducted in 1971 or in subsequent years? A. You are liable for induction induc-tion to age 26 or to age 35 if you are or have been deferred, to 1971 you will have a decreased de-creased vulnerability. However, H the calls for manpower in 19'1 are so high that they cannot be met by the 1971 section se-ction group the local boards W'U then select from the sup-B'y sup-B'y of manpower that might be left over from 1970. As each year goes by without your induction in-duction taking place, you will have a decreasing vulnerability. vulnera-bility. Q. Next February I will turn W. Do I enter the lottery Pool on that date? A. No. You won't be in- eluded in the random selection sequence until 1971. Tha 1970 Q. I have sequence number 250. If I want to volunteer for induction, will my local board wait until they reach sequence se-quence number 250 before they will accept me as a volunteer? vol-unteer? A. No. They may accept you as a volunteer prior to reaching reach-ing your random sequence number in the induction processing. pro-cessing. Q. I am 19 years old and now deferred as a student. My random sequence number is 300. If sequence number 300 is not reached in my local board in 1970, will I be home free when my deferment ends in 1973? A No. If at the time you are classified I-A in 1973 your local board has not reached 300 in their induction processing, you will simply be placed in that sequence and you may or may not be reached for induction in 197. You will st'll have sequence number 300. If at the time you are classified 1-A your local board has reached random sequence se-quence number 300 in 1973 you will be subject to induction induc-tion at the head of the 1973 selection group. |
