Show STUDENTS DECORATE MAIN STREET WINDOWS Milford's Main Street has just gotta be the fanciest in Utah for the Christmas season. Students Stu-dents of Milford High School have sp-nt the past week with brush and aerospray cans putting put-ting the Christmas spirit into downtown visitors, and hardly a window on the Main Drag has eceaped their artistic efforts. ef-forts. For many years the La-ly Lions and the city . council have sponsored a lighting and decorating contest, with cash prizes going to the businessmen and residents who have been outstanding in their decorative talents. This year, each high school class has been assigned certain downtown establishments establish-ments to decorate, and the prizes will go to the class funds instead of the merchants. And the decorations are as varied as the ideas of the students. stu-dents. Every traditional theme, and, many new innovations, adorn the downtown windows. Santa riding high in the heavens, heav-ens, Santa trying to squeeze his traditional bulk down a small chimney, the trumpet-blowing trumpet-blowing angels, cartoon characters, char-acters, and just plain "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Noel" have blanked out the windows, but instilled glows in many hearts. Milford's Main Street has just gotta be the fanciest in Utah, and Milford merchants are grateful to the MHS students for taking over their annual duties. Thursday morning they received re-ceived a Valentine of the Day from Dan Valentine, Tribune columnist, congratulating them on their efforts. |
