Show LARAINE CLARK NAMED TO HEAD CANDY STRIPERS Laraine Clark was elected president of Milford's Candy Stripers, the group of young volunteers who perform so many needed services at the Milford Valley Memorial Hos- pital. New vice president is Betsy Yardley, and Lisa Symond Sy-mond is secretary. They succeed LaDon Grim-shaw, Grim-shaw, Geraldine Bradshaw and Teria Miller. Other members of the group are Jackie Price, Lee Symond, B r e n d a Wilcock, Barbara Wright, Michelle Wisner, Debbie Deb-bie Bolton, Geraldine Bradshaw, Brad-shaw, Debbie Bealer, Kay Cornwall, LaDon Grimshaw, Teria Miller, LaRayne Lab-rum Lab-rum and Amanda Oxley. Mrs. Ann Marie Gay is adult supervisor. The girls meet at the hospital hos-pital twice each week where they work together to serve the hospital, its patients and its employees. As each season and holiday nears, the girls plan and prepare pre-pare tray favors for the patients. pa-tients. They have worked with the medical library and have charge of the bookmobile. They help with many spe-i cial hospital activities each, year, such as the annual bake sale, the Red Cross Bloodmo-biles, Bloodmo-biles, and the Christmas decorations dec-orations at the hospital. They have done outstanding work with the people in the geriatric ward or Senior Citizen Citi-zen Center, and are presently working on a book for Leonard Leon-ard Meeham. When completed it will be a typed, categorized book containing his original writings. These girls have given many hours of volunteer service in these capacities. Two girls, Lee Symond and Laraine Clark, each have given more than 90 hours of volunteer service. The Candy Stripers group was organized four years ago under supervision of Mrs. Phyllis Symond, who worked with the group until recently when she turned supervision over to Mrs. Gay. |
