Show Utoer ZTrachs News of the Students and Activties at Milford High School By LINDA SHIELDS i . "ft- --ffi r The Milford Tigers will clash with their arch rival. Beaver, tomorrow afternoon. The coaches coach-es and the team are confident that they will be able to change their record from 0-3 to 1-3. Beaver now has a record rec-ord of 1-2. The entire student body will travel to Beaver to help cheer the team on to victory. vic-tory. o A pep rally will be held tonight to-night down by the race track. A bonfire will be built, and students should bring their own hot dogs and marshmal-lows marshmal-lows to roast. The cheerleaders cheerlead-ers want everyone to turn out for this rally so we can show our team that we really think they're great. So come on, everyone, don't disappoint them! o At the last Student Council meeting it was proposed that a permanent concession stand be built at the north end of the 'bleachers. This stand would be financed by the Student Council and F.H.A., and might possibly be built by students in the shop classes. The members mem-bers of Student Council unanimously unani-mously approved the proposal, but it must still be okayed by higher authorities. o All the students and the faculty fac-ulty of M.H.S. will be enjoying enjoy-ing a three-day week end this week. They will all be heading head-ing for the hills for the start of the deer hunt. Everyone's ibeen anticipating and preparing prepar-ing for this hunt, and they should have fun even if they don't get their deer. o Homecoming was deemed a big success by everyone at school! There was a contest held for the best floats in the parade. The Seventh Grade won first place, the Sophomores Sopho-mores took second, and the Junior Red Cross placed third.. They will receive cash prizes of $15, $10 and $5 respectively. The Student Council float also received an honorable mention from the judges. o Mr. Swain, with the help of Melvin Walker and Bud Barnes, filmed the Homecoming Homecom-ing activities with the video tape recorder. Unfortunately, the films didn't turn out very well. A lot of knowledge was gained on haw to run the machine, ma-chine, and everyone is confident confi-dent that they'll soon be turning turn-ing out valuable' film. Kaysvillc. Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Beard and son David spent a week at Hanksville, Lake Powell, Natural Bridges, and Capitol Reef. W Miss Margaret Edge of Salt Lake visited Dr. and Mrs. D. A. Symond last week. John Grimshaw of Bounti ful was here Monday on Union Un-ion Pacific business and visited visit-ed his mother, Mrs. Edythe Grimshaw. O Billie and Jay Long visited their father, Jesse Long, last week end. Billie is a student at Porterville Junior College in California, and is editor of the collefe paper. Jay is home on leave from military service. He is attending an electronics school at Great Lakes Naval Training Station. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baker, Mrs. Albateen McKnight and Mrs. Nina Bingham attended a district convention of the DUP last Saturday in Cedar City. |
