Show GOVERNOR RAMPTON WILL ATTEND CEDAR PLANNING MEET Gov. Calvin L. Rampton will be the featured speaker at a dinner meeting during the conference con-ference on community development develop-ment and planning, scheduled for Feb. 3 on the College of Southern Utah campus. Sponsoring' the conference is the Five-County Organization, Organiza-tion, including Beaver, Garfield, Gar-field, Iron, Kane and Washington Washing-ton Counties. Purpose of the session is to help the people of Southern Utah develop dawn-to-earth answers to questions regarding the development of the communities com-munities and counties of Southern South-ern Utah, Four case studies will be presented pre-sented during the day-long session, ses-sion, which will include one dealing with the industrial development de-velopment of Cedar City,, the urban development of Kanab, the tourist potential and related relat-ed development of Springdale, and the story cf what has happened hap-pened in the past development of Minersville. It is hoped that from these case studies and f.pecial clinics that will be set up to deal with specific questions ques-tions that may arise, information informa-tion will be presented that will have realistic application in other parts of tha Five-County area where similar problems exist. Especially uvied to attend sre county, and city officials' and planning commissions, chambers of commerce and businessmen, resource development develop-ment committees, school boards and administrators, service clubs, women's community development de-velopment groups, beautifica-tion beautifica-tion committees, church leaders, lead-ers, etc. Registration will begin at 8:30 a. m. at the Student Union Building on the CSU campus, with sessions starting at 9 a. m. Luncheon will be at 12 noon and the dinner meeting at 6 p. m. A registration fee of $2 will provide for mcali pnd hand-out material for those in attendance. |
