Show . 4P 4 it -C fr O ELEMENTARV SCHOOL NEWS JY; LISA SYMOND MRS. BOND'S FIRST GRADE Mrs. Bond's class made Mother's Moth-er's Day booklets for Mother's Day. MRS. ROBERTS' SECOND GRADE The second graders made some presents for their mothers. moth-ers. They made a small folder to hold pins, needles and thread. Mrs. Chaffin brought special velvet paper and gold and green paper to use for the presents. They have been studying about rain helpers. Friday Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Chaffin took them on a train trip to Black Rock. Mr. Sears brought them back on the bus. They had lots of fun. In their room this year Bryan Bry-an Jackson, Bryan Edwards, Cindy Jones and Rosemary Davie have bought enough savings sav-ings stamps to get a bond. MR. FISHER'S FIFTH GRADE The students in Mr. Fisher's class are working on a very interesting project on states. This is how Adrianne Mayer did her reDort: "We drew the names of states and I picked Hawaii. I wrote to the fifth grade in Waianae, Hawaii. A girl named Linda Nahulu sent letters and information to me. Later she became my pen pal. I also wrote to the Chamber of Commerce Com-merce in Maui, Hawaii. They sent me information on the Island or Hawaii and the Island Isl-and of Maui. They told me how big Maui country is. Then I rwrote to the Chamber of Commerce again and they sent me the history of Hawaii, and the flag of Hawaii. Then it was my turn to put my state up on the board so my class could learn something about Hawaii.'' HIGH SCHOOL PL A If On Friday the fourth, fifth and sixth grades went to the high school to see "Arsenic and Old Lace," put on by the seventh period Speech class. It was very good. The biggest news for this week is that there are only 12 more school days left in this year! |
