At their meeting Saturday Bert Merryweather, president, set Saturday, Jan. 29, at 7:30 p. m. in the Methodist Church as the time ana place lor the annual meeting and election oi officers. The group will continue con-tinue to court the female and junior members setting dues for men at $2 a year, ladies $1, and junior wildlifers 50c. The Milford club last year started a program for members mem-bers under 16, aimed at teaching teach-ing sportsmanship, conservation conserva-tion and safety to the youngsters young-sters before they get their first deer license. "Utah Has No Deer" bumper stickers were ordered, to be sold to members at 25c each, and members will be urged to mail them to friends in California Cali-fornia and other states, as well as posting them on their personal per-sonal autos. Wallace L. Gregerson of Beaver was endorsed as a successor to Harold Crane as director of the Utah State Fish and Game Department. Steve Williams, publisher of the Beaver County News, was voted honorary membership in the club, "because of his valuable val-uable assistance in publicity and public relations." In the conservation department, depart-ment, the Milford Wildlifers will again sponsor gathering of bitterbrush seed at Cedar Cove, with young wildlifers gathering the seed at one or more outings, and forwarding the deer browse seed to the Fish and Game Department for planting in areas which are short on browse. The junior membership program pro-gram iwill be pushed at high school assemblies, where local and state speakers will discuss conservation and sportsmanship. |
