Show UTAH NIGHT HUNT REQUIREMENTS OUTLINED New rules and regulations for night hunting adopted by the Wildlife Board have become effective ef-fective this month. Only coyotes, bobcats, foxes, skunks and jackrabbits may be taken by persons using artificial artifi-cial light. No other forms of terrestrial and avian wildlife may be taken. Hunters must possess a special spe-cial certificate of registration for night hunting available only .at Division of Wildlife Resources Resourc-es offices at no charge. The certificates will be used on a statewide basis, but are valid only when used in conjunction with a written permit Issued by the sheriff of the county in which the hunting occurs. Individuals between the ages of 12 and 16 may hunt at night provided they have a certificate and are accompanied by an adult. No one under 12 may hunt. Hunting from or along roadways road-ways Is prohibited. Also prohibited pro-hibited are shooting from a vehicle, ve-hicle, from or across a roadway, road-way, and possession of a loaded load-ed firearm in a vehecle. It is illegal to hunt within one mile of an occupied dwelling, dwell-ing, or within one half mile of corralled or flocked livestock. i Sport hunting at night is not allowed August 1 through November No-vember 15. Violations of the outlined regulations re-gulations will result in the revocation revo-cation of night hunting privileges privil-eges and will be prosecuted as a misdemeanor. Landowners may take depredating, depre-dating, unprotected terrestrial wildlife with an artificial light at any time on private lands under their control. |
