Show SUSC TO BEGIN ON-THE-JOB TRAINING Southern Utah State College Is initiating a program which, in cooperation with various businesses, bus-inesses, will provide students with on-the-job experience prior pri-or to graduation. This program is now in the planning stages and they are attempting to locate lo-cate firms and companies who can receive benefits from such an arrangement while providing practical training and valuable insights for the prospective business administration or accounting ac-counting graduate. The student will be awarded some college credit for his work and, the cooperating co-operating employer will be asked ask-ed to submit a report to the college1 appraising the perform -ance of the student employed by him. The college will profit from this internship program because be-cause the student will brineex-perience brineex-perience into the classroom to stimulate and broaden the thinking think-ing of other students. The gap between theory and practice will be lessened when traditional words and definitions become meaningful concepts. The cooperating employer should benefit by acquiringpar-tially acquiringpar-tially trained employees at a fair price during peak periods. Also the employer can evaluate the future potential of a trainee with no commitment for continuing con-tinuing employment. |
