Show VISITORS CENTER TO OPEN FRIDAY After three false starts, the Milford Centennial Visitors Center Cen-ter is scheduled to open for sure at 3:30 p.m. this Frday, June 15, under the management of Mrs. Selma Kirk. Members of the Milford Centennial Committee, Com-mittee, local dignitaries and Mr. Lester Williams will be on hand for the ribbon cutting, which will be done by Mr. Williams who has been in charge of the fixing, painting and cleaning of the Old Westerner Bar which will house the visitors center. Many other people have donated time, material and tools to the refurbishing of the center which is being donated for the Centennial Centen-nial season by Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Davie. The center will house a small museum, of articles of pioneers, pion-eers, arrowhead collections, and ether museum type items, which will be loaned by residents of the area. A summer long art show will be held by the Milford Mil-ford Art Guild and it will also be headquarters for information about Milford, the Centennial and Southern Utah. Souvenirs of Milford, brochures and Centennial Cen-tennial dress will be available as well as the official Centennial Wooden Nickels, and Centennial Dollars. The Centennial Committee has ordered souvenir ashtrays, glasses, glas-ses, penants, vests, hats, ties, and many other items to sell. The proceeds will help to pay the expenses of the gala Centennial Cen-tennial celebration August 3-11. |
