On Tuesday evening Dean Carter received word from his hired man in Oakville, Wash., that a fire had broken out and destroyed the big barn full of hay, the milking parlor, part of the loafing shed, and the loss of 14 baby calves and one cow. Dean left immediately for Washington to see about rebuilding the buildings. In an article written in a sports magazine in Calif, and sent to Wilma Davis by relatives, rela-tives, captioned, "The Best 100 High School Football Backs in the U.S." was listed each State's best ball players. Under Utah was listed 2 players, one from Richfield and Mitch Gillins Gil-lins from Beaver High School. Mitch is the son of Wayne and Merle Gillins. We feel this is a great honor for Mitch. They were Lee and Le-ola Le-ola Gillins and four children, Bill and Carol Bradshaw and two children, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wiseman, Mr. and Mrs. Vance Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Myers and daughter, Mr. Gene Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Prodzinski and three children, Mrs. Carlie Serven and three children, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Jones and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Roberts and six children. On their way back they stopped in Cedar to visit their children. Visiting for a few days with Rex and Kathy Brown was his mother. Weekend visitors at the home of Mervin and Ada Edwards were their daughter, Joy and Lela Orton of Spanish Fork. Vhile here the two couples enjoyed en-joyed the parade at Parowan on Monday. Also here as an overnight guest was another daughter, Melba Morgan, StA George. On Monday Arshal and Lela Evans and Al and LaRee Mor-in Mor-in visited the canyon. They stayed one night at Zio.n and, one night at Grand Canyon, then on to Bryce for a tour and finally home. On Friday the two couples went to Henderson, Hen-derson, Nev. to attend the wedding wed-ding of a granddaughter, Colleen Col-leen Evans, daughter of Clyde and Beth Evans. Callers at the home of the Evans for a few hours last week were Ardell and Laura MINERSVILLE Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jameson small son were visiting his parents, Delbert and Effie Jameson, over the Labor Day weekend. O n Wednesday, Theone Mosher received word of an auto accident of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Neilson, near Glendale. Nev. Mr. Neilsn was fatality injured and Mrs. Neilson suffered many broken ribs and possible internal in-ternal injuries. The couple was on their way here to attend the Gillins family reunion which was to take place on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Larson spent a few days during the week in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. LaMon Perkes announce the birth of a baby daughter on Aug. 31st. She weighes 6 lbs. 3V2 ozs. and has 5 brothers and 1 sister waiting to welcome her. Visiting their grandmother, Armina Banks, on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Crane, Mc-v Gill, Nev., Mr. and Mrs. Norman Norm-an Anderson, Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. George Edwin Banks. Mr. and Mrs. George-Banks George-Banks also stopped to visit his mother. There were 19 members of the Susan and Lincoln Camps of Daughters of Utah Pioneers that attended the County Jubilee, Jubi-lee, held Wednesday in Milford. A lovely luncheon was served at noon followed by reports from each camp and a program. An enjoyable time was had by all 69 members of the county in attendance. Rulon and Rachel Eyre, Truman Tru-man and Merle Bradfield, and Darwin and Vivian Marshall left on Friday for a Short trip. They will take in the horse races at Elko, Nev. and visit other areas before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lawrence Calif., are visiting their father, Paul Lawrence, for a few days. LaVon and Jane Griffiths, Howard and Gwen Pryor and Daisy Gillins attended the Democrat De-mocrat Steak Fry held at the Big Rock, in Milford Friday evening. Little Wade Marshall, son of Chris and Connie Marshall, celebrated his 4th birthday on Sept. 1. A party was enjoyed by many of his little friends. Russell and Maurine Kearny and family of Kearns are visiting visit-ing their mother, Vella Stephenson, Steph-enson, over the Labor Day weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Lamb, Henderson, called an Delmar and Ilene Gray on Saturday. They came to get their father, I. H. Lamb, who has been here visiting for the past month. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jones and family, Kaysville, were here visiting over the weekend and attended the wedding of Thomas and Debbie Bealer Marshall. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Larson and small child, Granger, visited vis-ited their parents Karl and Phyllis Truman over the week-' end. Representative Sherman P.' Lloyd met and visited with interested in-terested people here Friday evening at the School House. Homer Harris, Panaca, Nev. called on his sister Randall and Louena Banks on Saturday. Satur-day. Jack and Evelyn Carter and family, Cedar City, were dinner din-ner guests Sunday of Ty and Bernice Gillins. Mrs. Debra Hutchings and son Brett, Price and Kathy Gillins, Salt Lake spent the weekend visiting their parentst Wayne and Merle Gillins. ' Visiting at the Bill Woodi home for a few days is Frieda's sister Marie Tolty of Ogden. Visiting the Floyd Woods' are their children and families. While here the boys are busy putting a new roof on the home of their parents. , At a baptism held at the LDS church Saturday night, Robert William Eyre and Greg Stanly Stan-ly Dalton were baptized.
