Show Football Friday; Beavers At Tiger Field 8:00 P.M. Milford begin to move the ball with some consistency in the rest of the quarter until, an Edwards pass was deflected and intercepted by Danny Hul-et, Hul-et, a 160 pound guard who scampered 55 yards for another Parowan TD. Parowan tried a kick for the extra point, but to no avail, score 18-8. The rest of the game was hampered by penalties, with a Chris Bentley TD called back 49 yards for illegal procedure. If the Tigers can avoid costly cost-ly injuries and keep the ball club healthy enough for the team to get a little experience working together, and with the adjustments made this week in both their offense and defense, they should give a good account ac-count of themselves when the Beavers come to town Friday. Their should be plenty of seating seat-ing as Shop teacher Leon Gay completed the last of the new bleachers this week. After suffering an 18-8 loss at the hands of the Parowan Rams last Friday, Coach An-drus' An-drus' Tigers prepared for the powerful Beaver team who will invade Tiger field Friday night at 8:00 p.m. Beaver will probably be the toughest team we've met sa:d Andrus, they beat Parowan by 40 points in their first outing, out-ing, but were beaten by a tough South Sevier team last week. We are young, small and lack experience, Andrus said, but we're learning, and each game we get better. Our offense looked better at Parowan, and we're working on our defense to stop that big run, which has hurt Us in the first two games, he said. Parowan was first on the scoreboard Friday when on the second play from scrimmage, after Milford's kickoff, they broke Chris Bentley loose for a TD. They were unable to convert con-vert and the score was 6-0. The rest of the first quarter and the beginning of the second sec-ond quarter saw both teams play fairly good defense, but unable to get an offense rolling roll-ing until Parowan punted to Milford on the 50 yard line. Edwards Ed-wards passed to Kris Yardley on the 41. Kris slipped on the cornered and went down. The next play brought a loss of 1 yard; then Richard Smith, still slightly favoring his injured in-jured leg, carried 31 yards to the Parowan 11. With a first and ten on the eleven, Edwards Ed-wards faked to Smith going right and handed off to Kris Yardley who went left around end and cut for the corner of the end zone for Milford's TD. Kris also ran the PAT and the Tigers led 8-6 with 8:10 left in the second quarter. Neither team was able to move the ball the rest of the half, due mainly to numerous and large penalties, which nullified nul-lified large gains by both teams. At the end of the third quarter, quar-ter, Milford, with the ball on the 50 yard line, attempted a punt, which was blocked by Parowan and recovered by Milford Mil-ford on their own twenty. By rules, unknown to this writer, Parowan retained possession of the punt and took over on the 30, first and ten. Parowan ran four downs for a 1st and 10 on about the 10y2 yard line at the quarter. On the fiist play in the fourth quarter, Chris Bentley went over tackle for a TD. and Parowan Par-owan led 12-8. |
