Show COOPER SPACE CAPSULE TO BE EXHIBITED IN SALT LAKE The space capsule, "Fair 7," which carried Major L. Gordon Cooper on 22 orbits of the earth, will be displayed in Salt Lake City from May 28 to 31, according to Senator Sen-ator Wallace F. Bennett. The capsule has been on tour across the country and National Aeronautics and Space Administration officials vprt that it has received considerable attention everywhere every-where it has been. Included in the exhibit will be a display of food similar sim-ilar to the supply Major Cooper had on Irs flight; cameras cam-eras and survival equipment. Major Cooper began his historic flight at Cape Canaveral Ca-naveral at 8:04 a. m. (E.S.T.) on May 17, 1963. It ended 34 hours and 20 minutes later in the Pacific Ocean. "Faith 7" carried Major Cooper on the last flight in the NASA Project Mercury Program. |
