I ' " $$ ' ' ' ifr 1 ' 3$ 1 ' ' I ' . 1 Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen NIELSENS TO OBSERVE GOLDEN WEDDING DATE Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen Niel-sen will observe their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, Sun-day, March 8, with an open house at their home from 2 to 6 p. m. They were married March 4, 1914, in Ephraim, and the marriage mar-riage was solmenized June 18, 1942, in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Nielsen was born Dec. 17, 1887, in Ephraim, a son of John and . Marie Antonnet Jacobsen Nielsen. Ethel E. Nielsen was born Jan. 7, 1891, in Ephraim, to C. J. and Marie Elizabeth Frost Christensen. They moved to Milford March 2, 1924. Mr. Nielsen has served as superintendent su-perintendent of the Milford LDS Sunday. School, in the presidency of the YMMIA, as ward clerk, was finance chairman chair-man when the new LDS Church rwas built and chairman chair-man of transportation for hauling haul-ing rock for the building from the old Murdock Academy at Beaver. He has served as counselor in the ward bishopric bishop-ric and Second Quorum of Elders, El-ders, president of the ward Genealogical ' Society,' for " 20 years a group leader in' the High Priests, and as a member of the Welfare Committee. A Scouter for more than 30 years, he is an Eagle Scout and holds the Eagle Scout Bronze Palm Badge. Active in the Democratic Party, Mr. Nielsen was district chairman for 20 years and is now chairman of the Beaver County Democrat Central Committee. Com-mittee. He served as House Supply Clerk during one session oi the Utah Legislature, and during dur-ing another session as assistant sergeant at arms. He retired June 30, 1954, as Milford postmaster after serving serv-ing 16 years. He was president presi-dent of the Utah Chapter of the National Association of Postmasters in 1953. Mrs. Nielsen has held all offices in the local American Legion Auxiliary Unit, served as District President and "in other district offices, and as Department Second Vice President Pres-ident and Department Chaplain. Chap-lain. She helped organize the first Beaver County 4-H Clubs and was a club leader for 12 years. She served on the Stake Relief Re-lief Society Board for 10 years and was ward counselor in the YWMIA. For many years Mrs. Nielsen was a music teacher, and assisted as-sisted in making the first uniforms uni-forms for the Milford High School Band. For several years she was a postal clerk in Milford. Both Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen are members of the National Association of Retired Civil Employees. |
