Show V V PRESIDENT KENNEDY WILL MAKE MAJOR ADDRESS THURSDAY IN SLC State Senator Frank B. Moss has announced that the visit of President John F. Kennedy to Salt Lake City has been officially confirmed. President Kennedy will arrive at the north concourse of the Slt Lake City airport air-port at 5:50 p. m. Thursday, Sept. 26th. The public is cordially invited. There will be a very brief ceremony at the airport and the President will depart from the airport air-port prior to 6 p. m. for a mootcrcade to the Hotel Utah, which will arrive at approximately 6:25 p. m. The President will spend the night at the Hotel Utah. President Pres-ident Kennedy will be greeted at the LDS Tabernacle by President Pres-ident and Mrs. McKay and President and Mrs. Brown just prior to the address. The President's program will commence com-mence at 8 p. m. Sept. 26. The Tabernacle doors will be open to the public at 7 p. m. There will be no reserved seats and no tickets will be required. The public will be seated on a first come first served basis. The Tabernacle Choir will entertain en-tertain from 7 to 7:50. Following Fol-lowing the Tabernacle program, pro-gram, the Utah State Democratic Demo-cratic Committee will hold a reception honoring President Kennedy and Senator and Mrs. Frank E. Moss. Invitations were mailed to a select few friends of the Democratic party. Admission will be by invitation and pass only. The Utah State Press Association As-sociation will sponsor a reception re-ception for some 55 White House Washington Correspondents Correspon-dents and newsmen. It is expected that President Kennedy Ken-nedy will make a brief appearance ap-pearance and hold a press conference following his address. ad-dress. D. Friday, Sept. 27, the President and his party will leave the Hotel Utah for the airport and will arrive at 9:35. The President will start the first generator at Flaming Gorge Dam. The public is cordially invited to this ceremony. cere-mony. President Kennedy will board Air Force Jet No. 1 at 9:50 a. m. and depart. This is the first time in many years a President of the United States has stayed overnight over-night in Utah. Senator Moss is deeply pleased that the President has shown such a profound interest inter-est in Utah and the West and the reclamation and conservation conserva-tion of these areas that provide so much power. |
