Show Utah Receives Oregon Trout The department of fish and (game last week received a sripment of 1,300,000 Kamloop trout eggs. These are a gift from the Oregon Department and further emphasize the cooperative co-operative spirit which characterize charac-terize inter-department dealings with sister states. The Kamloop trout, for which Pend Orielle Lake in Idaho is famous is a sub-spcies of the rainbow, which prefers cold, deep lakes. It is highly carni-verous, carni-verous, enabling it to grow to rather large sizes in short periods per-iods of time. Many have been ' taken, over 30 pounds, however, the average in good waters is from 8 to 10 pounds. After being hatched and reared rear-ed for about a month, all 1,300-000 1,300-000 are slated for planting In Bear Lake, probably sometime in September. |
