Pratt Kesler, this week announced an-nounced his candidacy to succeed suc-ceed himself as the state's chief legal officer. Mr. Kesler, a Republican, has been Attorney Attor-ney General since December, 1961. Prior to assuming his present pres-ent position, Mr. Kesler served for eight years as United States Attorney for Utah during dur-ing the administration of President Pres-ident Dwight D. Eisenhower. He also represented Salt Lake City for a number of years as city prosecutor and assistant city attorney. He is a past president of both the Utah State and Salt Lake County Bar Associations, and is currently a member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association. He is also chairman of the Utah Commission on Uniform State Laws. In Republican Party affairs, Mr. Kesler served two terms as Republican state chairman, has been a member of the Republican Re-publican National Coommittee, and has held numerous other positions on a state and county coun-ty level. |
