Show CSU Students Plan More 'Loyal to America' Activities Following a student council session of College of Southern Utah leaders Monday, further activities were announced by President Larry Hunter in the program to arouse American students to a revival of "new" fashioned loyalty to their country. - Nearly 1000 students rallied in an orderly demonstration and torchlight parade Wednesday, Wed-nesday, April 19, in a "stand up and be counted" for the principles of American Democracy, De-mocracy, Hunter said. Plans are now being completed com-pleted for a "March of Mourning" Mourn-ing" on Monday, May 1, the traditional day of celebration in the countries of Communism. Commun-ism. "In our march," Mr. Hunter said, "we will have every student stu-dent wearing an arm band of black in mournful remembrance remem-brance of countries now kneeling kneel-ing in slavery behind the curtains cur-tains of iron and bamboo." Mr. Hunter said that several hundred letters urging student participation in similar marches march-es will be sent to student leaders lead-ers in colleges and high schools across the nation. "We must awaken ourselves to the dangers of the world communist movement," he said. "We must understand more fully the blessings of a free country such as ours." |
