THIS WEEK IN MINERSVILLE By ALBATEEN ROBERTS Monday evening the Relief So- J ciety ladies and their husbands were entertained at a banquet and program and auction in the L D S Recreation Hall. Ralph Pearson, master of ceremonies, kept the crowd in good spirits while eating the delicious turkey, hot rolls and trimmings. Harold Baker's music and singing old favorite songs were enjoyed. Highlight of the party was a table full of hand made pillow cases, tablecloths, dish towels, aprons, sofa pillows, rugs, etc., which were auctioned by Karl Truman. Proceeds amounted to well over S100. It was indeed a pleasure to have Mrs. Nettie Myers, president, back with us as she has been ill for several weeks, undergoing surgery. We all missed her so much in our Tuesday Relief Society meetings. Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Edwards returned home after a 10-day vacation. va-cation. Traveling by train they visited children in California, and returning, they stopped in Las Vegas to surprise more relatives. Mrs. Edwards said they arrived home Friday evening, really en- I joying the trip. O Sunday night sacrament meeting meet-ing was well attended. Counslor Limb conducted. Elder Beaumont, Beau-mont, returned missionary from Beaver, delivered a very fine sermon, ser-mon, telling about his missionary work. 9 Saturday several couples from here motored to St. George to perform work in the LDS Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Golden Adams motored to Salt Lake Saturday!" evening on business. En route home Mrs. Adams remained in Orem to visit family and relatives' rela-tives' for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Carter motored to Parowan to assist ' their son's family (Mrs. Wilden Carter and children) who are moving to Puerto Rico where Wilden Wil-den is employed. He has been gone for several months preparing prepar-ing for his family's arrival by plane. Mrs. I. N. Nolder and daughter Helen, and baby daughter, left Tuesday morning for Salt Lake. She will have her eyes carefully examined. She has had an attack of influenza, with the rest of the town.
