Show COMMISSIONERS IN BEAVER COUNTY HAVE PRIMARY OPPOSITION Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock was the deadline for filing for state and county offices to be filled in November's general election and, though interest at the local level will not be as great likely as when more county offices are voted on, the intense activity at national and state levels promises to make this year's elections rather heated ones. In Beaver County, there will be primary competition only in the nominations for two- and four-year commissionerships, wbut there will be rivalry between the parties in both of these offices, plus that of representative to the state legislature, legisla-ture, in the November voting. Following are the officially listed list-ed Beaver County candidates: Representative in State Legislature Legisla-ture Jack C. Mahoney, Democrat, Milford (incumbent); and C. Edwin Ed-win Paice, Republican, Beaver. Four-Year County Commissioner Commission-er Howard J. Pryor, Democrat (incumbent); W. Leon Thompson, Democrat; and Ray Davis, Republican; Republi-can; all of Minersville. Two-Year County Commissioner Commission-er H. L. Tolley, Democrat (incumbent); (in-cumbent); Eugene H. Mayer, Republican; and Wesley S. Bolton, Democrat; all of Milford. |
