We invite them, if they wish, to write New Year messages to members of their wards for publication next week.; CHRISTMAS GREETINGS METHODIST CHURCH Rev. Mrs. Myrtle While One of the fine things about Christmas is the "levelling off process' which should, if it does not, take place in the minds and h parts of all people. "For unio us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be railed Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, Fath-er, The Prince of Peace." Unto us all alike, comes this Prince of Peace. "The rich and the poor meet together, and the Lord is maker of them all." I wish to say that Christmas, within our homes, school,, churches church-es and community of Al.ilford should be a very rich experience of fellowship, love, forgiving spirit, spir-it, friendship, and worshipful attitudes. at-titudes. This will not be because of giving rich and expensive gifts to each other, being sad some of us because we cannot do this, but may our gifts be the gifts of love, sobriety, fellowship, fel-lowship, thrift that comes from our labors, and "the milk oi human hu-man kindness" to each other and to our Lord whose birth we celebrate cele-brate against this "holy season" of the year. So let us be like children today; we are, you know, the children of God. How great is the love of God for His children; only the infinite paternity patern-ity of our Heavenly Father could have brought about the Incarnation. Incarna-tion. It is so simple that it touches all hearts, kindling the fervor of the devout, warming the indifferent, striking a spark in the embers of hearts that have long grown cold. Peace and good will, grace and truth, may these four Christmas blessings fill your hearts and souls on this happy, holy day. The peace which the herald angels promised when they made heavenly heav-enly music over Bethlehem's hills on that first Christmas, the good will of the shepherds who knelt in adoration around the first crib; the grace and truth of the Word made flesh. Gc-d became man to draw us close to Him. Come, let us go with the shepherds to the manger and kneeling there, offer |
