Show zilS WEEK IN SINERSV1LLE By MRS. EMILY G1LLINS Minersville Literary Club met at the home of Mrs. Frieda Wood, with Mrs. Marybelle Eyre as assistant as-sistant hostess. The book "Elbow of the Snake" was presented by Mrs. Eloise Murdock. Mrs. Florence Flor-ence Wood and Mrs. Dorothy Wood were special guests. Chocolate ice cream sundaes and cookies were served. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Thompson and daughter Louise of Salt Lake have been here visiting their mother, moth-er, Mrs. Edna Mecham. Stephen Hollingshead has been confined to the Beaver County Hospital for over a week, after a t heart attack. His condition is reported re-ported as "improved." Mrs. Alvaretta Robinson was admitted ad-mitted to the hospital for observation observa-tion and rest, resulting from a ner-vous ner-vous condition. Mr. and Mrs. Charles K. Jame-j son have been in Henderson, Nev., visiting and caring for their daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Dorene DeMille, who has been seriously ill. I Mrs. Lettie (iioson is here visiting vis-iting her mother, Mrs. Nell Eyre, and assisting with spring cleaning. Mrs. Marybelle Eyre took her 1 Sunday School class to the showing of The Ten Commandments at Beaver Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Carter of Cedar Ce-dar City brought their trailer house ; to Minersville during the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Karen Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Alton Marshall joined them on a trip out west hunting wild horses and coyotes. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Puffer of Cedar City were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vendon Myers. Mrs. Gertrude Marshall is in California caring for the new arrival ar-rival at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Dalton In Long Beach. Big Maple was the scene of an outdoor party including the following fol-lowing couples: Mr. and Mrs. Dale j Eyre, .Mr. and Mrs. Lee Marshall, M:. and Mrs. Frank Myers, and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Myers were hosts last week at a party observing observ-ing Frank's birth anniversary. A tasty ham supper was served to Mr. j and Mrs. Claus Marshall, Mr. and I Mrs. Wayne Gillins, and the hosts. Parties this week have been held for the following members of I the younger set: April Dotson. I daughter of the Ruben Dotsons, ' who turned 7; Maxine Murdock, of the Ray Murdocks, also 7; Kathy - Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson, who turned 10. Mrs. Polly Baker is back in Min-ersville Min-ersville after being in California for the winter. Her granddaughter granddaugh-ter accompanied her hornet Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Roberts and i family of Oregon were here for the Minersville Ward Reunion. Mrs. Alta Kelsey and daughter Lou visited in Salt Lake and Provo over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Edwards and family of Stockton were recent guests at the home of Mrs. Alba Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gress-man Gress-man and family also stopped briefly brief-ly in Minersville en route from Greenriver to make their home in Bishop, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Baker were called to St. George Sunday because be-cause of the illness of I7arold's mother. She is reported as being improved. Extensive cleaning of lots has been noticed at the homes of Thurman Eyre, Frank Carter, Karen Carter, Stan McKni?lit, G. W. Carter; the home of Marshall Hollingshead has a new coat of paint; trees have been removed at the Verne Wood home; new lawn planted in front of the Town Hall, and the Vic Myers home. Mr. and Mrs. Doug Blackburn and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gillins took a trip out west over the week end, trying out a new jeep belonging belong-ing to Doug. |
