Show j Katie Gaye Vest Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted at 1 p. m Saturday in the Lynndyl L D S Chapel for Katie Gaye Kendall Vest, 63, who died at 5:30 a. m. Tuesday in the Beaver County Hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Vest was born Oct. 3, 1894, in South Shields, County Durham, England, to Joseph Mathews and Edith Everett Harvey Har-vey Wilson. At the age of 6 she tame to the United States, and was raised by foster parents par-ents Samuel and Annie Blackburn Black-burn Kendall, at Nephi. She married Myron Vest on Oct. 3, 1912, in Salt Lake City, and they moved to Lynndyl where Mr. Vest was employed by the Union Pacific. In 1949 they moved to Milford. Mrs. Vest was an active member mem-ber of the L D S Church until illness forced her to cease active ac-tive participation in church work. On Dec. 1, 1938, she went to the Manti Temple for her own endowments. Surviving, besides her husband, hus-band, are three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Floyd (Myla) Roundy, Mendon; Mrs. Williar.v (Edith) Lovell, Springville; Mrs. Carlyle ( Blanche ) Gronning, and Myron Cornell Vest, Salt Lake; and Samuel Eugene Vest, Lynndyl; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Sixsmith. County Durham, England; a brother, Richard Hazlegrove, address unknown; and 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Southern South-ern Utah Mortuary in Milford -Friday afternoon and evening. Burial will be in the Mona Cemetery. |
