Representatives from every organization at Weber visited the City Commission Friday morning to present a petition previously signed by the student body requesting the cooperation of the Mayor and Commissioners in the fight to make Weber College an independent, state-supported institution. Mayor Bundy expressed himself as being most willing to cooperate, either as Mayor of the city, as an individual, or as a committee member in this attempt. He stated that personally he was much in favor of the junior college idea. "I believe the junior college fills a need that the university cannot," he said. Notation of the resolution of the Commission to support the College was made in the Ogden City minutes for permanent record. " "' ' ''I t : ; a, Mayor Ora Bundy Alumnus Chosen On U. S. C. Debate Team Jetta Barker, 31, Upholds Weber Prestige in Trojan Tryouts. Speaking on the Pi Kappa Delta trial question, "Resolved, that the United States should agree to the cancellation of the inter-allied war debt," Miss Jetta Barker, Vice-President of last year's Weber student-body and now a scholarship student at the University of Southern California, was chosen one of the twelve members of the women's debate team at that great institution. By achieving this position Jetta has upheld the standard of Weber debaters, who for the past five years in aspiring to positions on the debating team of other schools which they have later attended, have never failed to gain first team honors. Professor Leland H. Monson and his debators aru known throughout the entire United States, and they have established a reputation; the envy of many larger schools.
