Katie Berrett, who is running for executive director of clubs and organizations, is affiliated with Wildcats United and believes that this platform can really make a difference. "Many candidates running with the Wildcats United have been with either Student Activities or student government for a few years," Berrett said. "The union of the two and the subsequential formation of this party have brought us together." According to the poll done by Wildcats Uni ted, themajorissues on campus are communication, parking, tuition and service opportunities. "While the Wildcats United has calculated ways to deal with the issues of parking and tuition," Berrett said, "they like to emphasize their skill in increasing communication on campus." Christopher Russell, WSU political science major, is running for academic vice president. He believes that the most important thing is to encourage students to vote and remind them of the importance of empowering the students' voice. "I feel it is our duty as Americans to use our right to vote/' Russell said. "We live in a democracy and our ancestors fought for equal representation in government affairs, and it is essential that we exercise this right." Cassie West, affiliated with the Exclamation Party, is running for student body president. West believes that "We have a lot of outside perspective. We have seen how things have been done differently. We just want to implement that here and get that feeling and that fever here." - Cassie West, Exclamation party candidate running for student body president there is not much difference between Exclamation and Wildcats United. "We agree on a lot of things," West said. "The difference is how we will implement those things, how we want to implement the better publicity so people know what is going on, people know how to get into the clubs and organizations and know what is available on campus." According to West, the biggest problem on campus is that students have the mentality that WSU is just a commuter school and nothing else. The Exclamation Party has eight members; two of them went to Utah State for some time, one to Virginia State, and another is from Alabama, "We have a lot of outside perspective," West said.
