Sports Editor While competing in the BYU Invitational, the Weber State men's track team set two new school records, placed five people on the WSC All-Time Top Ten list, and established 18 seasonal bests in the non-scoring meet. Jason Webb estabished a new WSC record in the high jump with his winning jump of 71". Webb's leap eclipsed the old mark set by Willie Sojourner. Richard Stuart placed third by jumping 6'10" which is a new personal best by two inches. Dave Chowen's time of 52.36 is a new school record in the 400-meters intermediate hurdles as he won this event. Chowen is the first freshman to ever hold a school record at Weber State in a very long time. Chowen also made the All-Time Top Ten list with his time in the 400-meters dash of 49.0. Parker Barney placed sixth in the 400-meters hurdles in a time of 54.95. Darrin Williams and Clark Roberts finished 3-4 in the 1500-meters with times of 3:54.67 and 3:55.72, respectively for their best times this year. Their times are equivelant to running the mile in 4:13.3 and 4:14.4. Farley Gerber competed in the 5000-meters this week and placed second behind former BYU great Doug Padilla. Gerber's time of 14:23.94 was a personal best for him by 20 seconds at this altitude. Henry Burkhardt finished fifth in a time of 15:03.79. Tom Calvert had a personal best of 46'1" as he finished fourth in the triple jump. Dave Adams was fifth with his jump of 43'6" which was also a seasonal best. Adams also had a seventh-place finished in the long jump at 20'10V4". The 4x100 meter relay team of Steve Baty, Erwin Stone, Derrick Jackson and Steve Baggs had a seasonal best of 41.60 as they finished second. Webb's best jump of 7' 1" is the 200-meters (22.39) and made the All-Time Top 10 list in the 400-meters with his time of 49.10. Baggs had a fourth-place finish in the 100-meters in 10.94, and Jackson had sixth-place finishes in both the 100-meters (11.18) and the 2002-meters (22.61). Baty was third in the 110-meters high hurdles in 14.44 and Shawn Dorr was sixth in 14.92. John Atterbury placed second in the shot put with a throw of 451", a seasonal best for him. Guy Webber was fifth at 3810", and Barney was sixth at 37'0". Barney also had a personal best in the discus with a throw of 13911".
