Show sports SIGNPOST May 21. 1982 Page 6 Stumph receives honor Weber State's 6-4 junior center Cindy Stumph has been named Second Team Ail-American by the American Women's Sports Federation among Division I candidates. Stumph ended the season ranked ninth in the nation in scoring 23.9 points per game. She was named to the All-Conference Mountain Division, was an All-American candidate from Region Seven, and was one of the finalists for the Wade Weber archers to The Weber State College Archery Club will host the 1982 Utah Bowman Association's State Formal Championships on May 22-23, at the Weber State archery field located below the PE building. "We will have some of the best archers in the state at this meet," said Glenn Harris, WSC's archery coach. "There will be some tough competition and the archers will have to shoot high scores to win." The shoot is scheduled for 9 r Wildlife Each spring many wildlife babies are lost to human "predation." Wildlife disturbed or taken from their natural environment rarely survive. Even well-intending humans often do more harm than good. For example, after a fawn is born, the doe will leave her baby in a sheltered place while she grazes some distance away. The doe returns only twice a day to feed the fawn. " " i The ROTC team, taking part in the intramural superstar competition, gets some added help Three sign Weber State's women's basketball coach Jane Miner announced the signing of three Utah high school athletes to play basketball for the Lady 'Cats next year. Signing a letter of intent from the local area was 6-4 Michelle Kelsey of Clearfield High School. The daughter of Dwight and Sonja Kelsey of Clearfield, Michelle helped lead her Clearfield team to State 4A runner-up this past season, was named to the All-Region team and made All-State honorable mention. Kelsey averaged 15 points and nine rebounds per game and was named most valuable player at Clearfield High. Another signee for the Wildcats was Shelley Roberts out of Orem High School. Roberts, a 5-6 point guard, averaged 19 points a game this with Lady 'Cats past season and was named to the All-State and All-Region teams while also gaining the Most Valuable Player award at the 1982 State 3A Tournament.Blenda Henrie, a 5-11 forward from Richfield, also signed a letter of intent for the Wildcats. She averaged 26 points and 10 rebounds per game this season with a game high of 39 ooints. She was named All- Actually it's more than a summer job.
