Show May 13, 1977 Signpost Page 9 GRAND &f SLAM JT by Lynn Arave For the 3rd straight year, Prep track and field competition at its best is being held at Weber State College. The "why" concerning this proves quite interesting. The reason is simple. Gary Crompton and Weber State's Athletic staff aren't ones to be disorganized. They make sure that the events start on time. They also run the meets with volunteers and even make money on the meet for the Utah High School activities association, while most other colleges offer their facilities, but no help in running the meet. Great organization The organization is always great and I'm sure the high school coaches and athletes appreciate it. Nothing is worse for an athlete or coach in a track event than having to wait for an event. It's very nerve racking and not at all comfortable, let me assure you. Today the girls 3A and 4A State High School track meet will be held all day long in the Wildcat Stadium. Tomorrow the Boys meet will be staged beginning at 9 a.m. The cream of the crop of Utah prep track and field will be on hand and spectators are not likely to be disappointed. SOMEONK ELSE said it: Man blames fate for other accidents, but feels personally responsible for a hole in one.
