After spending nearly five hours filling 1000 balloons with water, they were gone in a matter of minutes. One industrious fellow picked up a box to show everyone how many he had. As soon as he told everyone he had them, they were gone. The tug-of-war proved that the upper classmen had just a little more strength (if not class) when they won the event twice in a row. Kenny Knight expressed his sincere appreciation for all the hours of work committee members put into this event. He also wished to thank all those people who participated In the events, for they are the ones who made the week successful. A. Yes. The following persons may appeal a registrant's classification: Any person who claims to be a dependent of the registratn; any person who had filed a written request for the registrant's occupational deferment prior to his original classification; the government appeal agent; the State Director of Selective Service; the Director of Selective Serive and, of course, the registrant himself. Q. I will complete my tool and die maker's apprenticeship in three months. Will my Class 11-A deferment continue when I work as a journeyman? A. Your present 11-A deferment must terminate when you complete the apprenticeship training. Your new classification by the local board will be based upon the circumstances and facts as they exist at that time. Q. I enlisted in the National Guard on my 18th birthday. That was two months ago. I was under the impression that members of the Guard and Reserve did not have to register for the draft. Is this true? If not, what should I do? A. Members of the Reserve components of the Armed Forces, Coast Guard and Public Health Service while on ACTIVE DUTY are not subject to registration. Since you are not on active duty, you are in effect delinquent for not registering with Selective Service. Report to your local board immediately, and explain the circumstances of your failure to present yourself for registration. t " from the Chatonelles of the past year.
