The transport Panama, Pan-ama, from Santiago, which was reported report-ed lost, arrived here' yesterday, aud is now on her way to New York. The vessel's engines were out of order which accounts for the delay in l,or arrival at tin port. When the Pana-ma Pana-ma sailed from this port she had 300 persons on board, including officers passengers and crew. Among the passengers pas-sengers were representative John Dalzell Dal-zell and former Congressnian-al-Lar-c Huff, of Pennsylvania, who, with "a party of seven Pennsylvania railroad men, had spent several davs in Sanfi-ago Sanfi-ago investigating plans for constructing construct-ing a railroad to connect Santiago with Havana, with which they had bee, favorably impressed. |
