Show Visit to The New Sr.-.-sUcr. The editor of this paper paid a visit on Wednesday to the new water-jacket smelter erected at the "Roint" by the St. George Copper Mining Co., and was shown over the plant by Samuel L. Adams, Sr. The smelter is of 20 ton capacity, and while we wm-e there Mr. Adams started the machinery to work. Everything: is in apple-pie order and practically all ready to start smelling. Much good work lias been done in tiie erection of e!io;R and buildings, which are put up apparently with the intention inten-tion of standing for an indefinate period, per-iod, all being firm and substantial. About twelve tons of ore is already on the ground, and more is being hauled in daily. Large supplies of coke and charcoal is stacked up ready for use. and th.e uppearamce of everything in connection with the pifnt betokens that the running will continue steadily when once a start is made. |
