The Salt Lake Herald says the directors direct-ors of the Grand Gulch have paid a dividend divi-dend of 1 cent a share, or $2,400. This is from three months working of the mine, leaving a healthy bank account in reserve. The receipts from the shipments, 110 tons, were $13,000, of which $3,000 were expended among the teamsters who transported the ore to Modena. XOT DIPTHERIA. The report of a case of diptheria given in our last issue was incorrect. The report was given to this paper from what was considered a reliable source and published. The Xews regrets to have caused any unnecessary un-necessary worry, but published the report in good faith, having no reason to doubt its reliability; and in the hurry of going to press we had not time to hunt up particulars. The case proved to be one of severe throat trouble, the sufferer being Mrs. Frank Dodge. She is progressing famously. |
