Show FLOODS IN IDAHO. Kcndrlck Almont Swept Away Three Lives Lost. Kendrick, Ida., Jan. 15. As a result of the sudden flood in the Potlatch river, three lives are known to have been lost, fears are expressed for others, twenty houses here have been swept away, stores are flooded, railroad tracks and bridges have been swept away and many people have fled to the adjacent hills. Street Commissioner llamblin and family tried to escape from the flooded district in a buggy. The vehicle was overturned and three children were drowned. Mr. llamblin was brought to the bank after a daring rescue by John Long. Mrs. llamblin was found in the morning on the top of a dwelling, dwell-ing, half dead from expo.Mi re and grief. The flood carried away half the warehouse ware-house of the Kendriek drain company, in which was stored 50,000 bushels of wheat. A t midnight the flood began to recede re-cede slowly, but there was still three feet of water in the .stores, and . the telephone operator who sent the message mes-sage to the outside world stood waist deep in the cold water. |
