Show A ORDINANCE. An Ordinance Regulating the Keeping Keep-ing and Storing of Explosives. Section 1. Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of St. George, That no Person or Persons, Firm or Corporation shall be permitted to keep anv GIANT POWDER, DYNAMITE, NITRO-GLYCERINE or other EN-PLOSIVE EN-PLOSIVE in any Store, Shop, or premises prem-ises connected therewith or PRIVATE HOUSE within the platted portions of the Citv of St. George. PROVIDED, however, that by and with the consent of the Mayor or City Council, not to exceed Twenty Five (25) Pounds of Gunpowder or Blasting Powder Pow-der may be kept by such person or persons, firm or corporation at their usual place of business. Section 2. Any Person or Persons, Firm or Corporation, owning or having in their possession or dealing in any explosives over and above Twenty Five Pounds of Gunpowder or Twenty Five Pounds of Blasting Powder, shall either individually or collectively erect a Magazine for the Storage thereof. Section 3. Applications for the building build-ing of any Magazine for the storage of Explosive must be made in writing to the City Council, such Magazine to be FIRE-PFIOOF and to be located in such place and built of such material as the City Council may prescribe, the City Council reserving the right to change the place of location of any and all Magazines as seems in their judgment to be for the safety and best interests of the City. Section 4. Any Person or Persons, Firm or Corporation who violates, disobeys dis-obeys or neglects to comply with the provisions of this Ordinance, shall be deemed guilty of an offense and upon conviction thereof shall be liable to a fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars Dol-lars or to be imprisoned in the City Jail not exceeding One Hundred days or to both such fine and imprisonment. Section 5. This Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and publication according to law. Passed by the City Council Feb. 3. 1900. Thomas P. Cottam, SEAL. Mayor. Francis L.
