Show Mrs. Julia Berry Feted On 79th Birthday Mrs. Julia Berry was happily surprised sur-prised on Tuesday afternoon, July 14, when a small group of her close neighbors joined informally in celebrating with her, her 79th birthday anniversary. Mrs. R. A. Thorley, Mrs. John Alsop and Mrs. Walter Cannon were hostesses host-esses at Mrs. Berrys home. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, July 14, 1863, she was a daughter of Adam and Jeannette Belz Weiker. When a young woman, in 1888, she came to Castle, Montana, m the White Sulphur Springs . district, dis-trict, returning to Dubuque in 1891, where she married George j C. Berry, Indian War veteran of New York, April 2, 1891. They lived in various places before coming com-ing to St. George ten years ago, where they have since resided, Mr. Berry having died in 1939. Smart, alert, Mrs. Berry does her own house work and keeps her small yard in trim and without with-out weeds, besides helping her neighbors in various ways. She has three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Young of Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Marman Hodges of Rosalia, Washington, Wash-ington, and Mrs. T. E. Pleasants of Sheridan, Wyo.; seven grandchildren grand-children and two great-grandchildren. |
