Show HURRICANE Mrs. Vernet Hinton Reporter jThe adult cla.-s of the M. I. A. I held a pot-luck supper at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Hinton Hin-ton last Tuesday evening. It was truly a "pot-luck" affair, since every guet brought chili beans. The Jolly Stitchers club mot at the home of LaVonia Campbell Friday afternoon. Alfred Scow, LaVon Adams, De-Ion De-Ion Bradshaw, Merrill Hinton and Madsen Gibson were home from Las Vegas oyer the week end. Mrs. Warren Johnson and family fam-ily spent Sunday in St. George with her father, John M. Lang, on his 82nd birthday anniversary. Glenna Hall left Sunday to resume re-sume her work in the arms plant at Salt Lake City. Rowena Morris of Las Vegas is here visiting with her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Lizzie Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Cox and Mrs. Rudgar Atkin of St. George were visitors Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Brooks. The Ladies' Literary club met Friday at the home of Mrs. Mae Hirschi. They spent the afternoon knitting for the Red Cross while Mrs. Cassie Riding reviewed the play, '.'All God's Children Got Wings' by Eugene O'Neill. Friday night a group of older folks surprised Mrs. A. F. Stout, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. An interesting informal in-formal program and luncheon were featured. Mr. and Mrs. Max Jepson spent the week end in Las Vegas visiting visit-ing Mr. Jepson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jepson, returning Monday Mon-day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Arbon Hall of Cedar City were week end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Johnson are here visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson. Ivan is employed with the Coast Geodetic Survey in Oregon. He is recovering recov-ering from a recent two months' of hospitalization. Pvt. Glenwood Hall is home on furlough from military service. He arrived home just one year to the day from his departure for the Army. At present he is stationed sta-tioned in Canada, where his division di-vision has assisted in erecting the Canada-Alaska highway. Several attended the St. George Temple sessions Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George Lippold of Enterprise attended the wedding wed-ding reception of Mr. and Mrs.. Clell Covington last Wednesday evening. This bride is their daughter, daugh-ter, the former Mildred Lippold, of Enterprise. Speakers at last Sunday's Sacrament Sac-rament meeting were stake missionaries mis-sionaries Heber Hirschi and De-Lance De-Lance Squire. Floyd Bradshaw, who returned recently from Barzil reported his missionary labors. |
