Show Nev Harmony and Leeds Lead Here in Victory Loan Drive While, due to the illness of V. J. Frei, detailed returns of the west end of Washington County were not available last night, reported figures indicate Washington County Coun-ty has subscribed almost 5147,700 of its total quota of $242,120, or approximately 60 per cent, while purchase of E-Bonds in the county coun-ty is up to almost 33 per cent. New Harmony, among the first towns in the state to "go over the top" in this drive, purchased $2226 in E bonds within 24 hours after the drive opened. Its quota was set at $1358. Leeds, with a total quota of S5000.00 of which $2512. was in E-Bonds purchased the entire $5,000. in E-Bonds, and is thet second town in Washington county coun-ty make the grade. Hurricane, with a quota of $25,-805. $25,-805. shows sales of $16.6000 and St. George is below its figure of $69,945 as we go to press. Total allocated to the county was $242,120, and cash sales at the Bank of St. George amounted to $25,087.50, while the State Bank of Hurricane reports $28,000, and the St. George postoffice $4,050.50. From their total purchase of corporation bonds, the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company has allotted $25,-000 $25,-000 teo Washington county in the interest of their business heret. This amount will be disteributed in credit among the towns who produced beet seed and is a big lift in raising the county's entiire Corporation bond quota. |
