Show Hoyt Addresses Graduates Carol Sullivan and Yvonne Jackson Present Valedictorian Addresses Judge Will L. Hoyt addressed the 29 college and the 63 high school graduates at the Commencement exercises last Friday night. He gave some timely advice concerning concern-ing the problems faced by young people of today. Valedictorians Carol Sullivan and Yvonne Jackson, of the lower and upper divisions, respectively, also touched on problems of the day. The college orchestra, augmented aug-mented by local musicians, furnished furn-ished the music. Diplomas were presented by Dr. W. J. Reichmann of the Washington County School Board and W. O. Bentley of the State School Board. Closing exercises were held last Friday morning in the college auditorium, with Pres. Glenn E. Snow presiding and the seniors and departing instructors being honored. The previous Wednesday Charles E. Merkley and his students stu-dents gave a demonstration of plane spotting. Miniature planes, constructed by the participants, were used in the demonstration. |
