Show Associated Clubs Meet In Beaver Saturday, 22nd BEAVER, Utah. The meeting of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah held here on Saturday, Sat-urday, May 22nd, was well-attended, considering the wartime conditions. The meeting was in charge of Pres. Chauncey Sand-berg, Sand-berg, who gave a short report on the financial condition of the club, which was shown by President Sandberg to be in fine condition. Many other problems facing southern Utah were discussed by members of the association and special speakers. A review of the work of the club during the last legislature was given by T. W. Jensen, chairman of the legislative committee. Mr. Jensen stated that the club took an active part in the legislative matters that pertained per-tained to this section as a whole, and the state in general. After a general dscussion it was the concensus of the members at the public meeting that it would be advisable to not attempt to hold the meetings each month for the duration of the war. Speakers brought out the fact that southern Utah is now furnishing furnish-ing many of the essential products that aid in the winning of the war, such as: Alunite, iron, coal, cattle, sheep and other foods and that this section is entitled to more aid in bringing about the production of other essential minerals. |
