Morris visited in Las Vegas, last Friday over Sunday Sun-day with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Kunz. Mrs. Grant B. Harris and small daughter, Rosalie, left Monday night for Pasco, Wash., where they will visit briefly with Lieut. Harris before his transfer to another an-other location. M. .V. Orton, Mrs. Silas Topham and Mr. and Mrs. Lollin Orton motored down from Paro-wan Paro-wan Jan. 1st, to attend the funeral fun-eral services of Michael Gubler Orton and visit other relatives. Mrs. Mary E. Orton returned Saturday, Jan. 2nd, to Boulder City, where she has employment, having spent Thursday and Friday Fri-day in St. George with Mr. and Mrs. Rulon A. Orton, and attended her small grandson's funeral services. Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande Spils-bury Spils-bury and baby were down from 100th birthday anniversary celebration cele-bration of their grandfather, Charles W. Seegmiller. Mrs. George Brooks and Mrs. Byron H. Taylor entertained at the Brooks home Monday evening, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Laron S. Andrus and their mother, Mrs. Matilda Andrus, who are leaving this week to make their home in Provo. Miss Uarda Knight was a New Year's day guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B. Jarvis. Miss Fern Starr, who has been visiting in St. George over the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph McArthur of Wasco, Calif., spent the week end in St. George visiting relatives. rela-tives. Their small son, Jimmie, who has been in St. George for several weeks, .and .Mrs. Mc-Arthur's Mc-Arthur's mother, Mrs. Alma McGregor Mc-Gregor of Provo, returned with them, the latter to remain for the winter. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Higbee of Badger, Calif., were guests of Mrs. Higbee's father, J. M. Gates, over the holidays. Mrs. James Baker Paxton Jr., the former Vauna Mae Leany, returned re-turned from Salt Lake City during the holidays, following their December De-cember 15th marriage. Lieut. Paxton has returned to his military mili-tary post. LeGrande Nelson made a busiT ness trip to Provo over the week end. C. S. Wood was a St. George visitor from Salt Lake City over the New Year week end. William Morrison, of Richfield, arrived last Friday to visit in St. George for several days. Don Carlos Schmutz was home from Provo over Sunday to attend at-tend the christening of his son, Stephen Donald Schmutz. Mrs. Gordon Sullivan returned last Friday from spending a week in Los Angeles with Mr. and Mrs. Carl J. Milne, both of whom are employed there in defense plants. Mrs. Milne was formerly Miss Emma Sullivan. Mrs. Arthur Gregerson and daughter, VerDon, returned Sunday Sun-day from LaVerkin, where they visited over the New Year' week end with Mr. and Mrs. W. If '19 If Miss Beryl Napier, Miss Myrtle Henderson and Mrs. Vivian Spencer Spen-cer returned over the week end from vacationing over the holidays with relatives in northern Utah. 'If 'if Miss Jessie Larson left this (Thursday) morning for Salt Lake City, where she will enter the school for defense workers in the department of drafting. M. .H. M. tf "7C 'if Mrs. Minnie Harris, who has been in California for the past two months, returned to St. George on Sunday. She will visit indefinitely with Mr. and Mrs. Reed Blake. Miss Ruth Hafen was hostess Wednesday evening at her home to the A. D. Q. club. Special guest was her sister, Mrs. Ray Hobbs, of Prescott, Ariz. Lunch, sewing and visiting took up the evening. Mrs. Jed M. Terry spent Thursday Thurs-day and Friday visiting with her mother, Mrs; James B. Woods in Provo. Miss Maurine Whipple took the bus early Wednesday for Salt Lake City, s where she will give her lecture before' various groups, planning to return about the middle mid-dle of January. .V, W If Guest over Tuesday and Wednesday Wed-nesday of Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Cannon was Mrs. Bill Leithead of Canaan ranch, who returned recently re-cently from a month's vacation in New York and Philadelphia, while her husband, Captain Leithead was on furlough from convoy duty. w $k Mr. and Mrs.' H. R. Bentley have as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Bailey of Provo. Mr. Bailey is an instructor at the flying fly-ing school there. Mrs. Gus Pendleton is spending the week in Las Vegas with Mr. Pendleton and with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Abbott. M. .M. 'If If Mrs. Ernest Langston of Cane Beds is visiting in St. George since Wednesday, a guest of Mrs. Lee Esplin. Walter Moss of Las Vegas, visited vis-ited his mother, Mrs. Jane M. Moss in St. George Wednesday afternoon, returning home that evening. He is to report at Fort Douglas this week for military service, having been drawn in the Nevada draft quota. This gives Mrs. Moss three sons and three grandsons in the Army, a fact of which she is justly proud. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Snow during the holidays holi-days were Mrs. Snow's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Wilson of Boulder City. .y. -v, 'if 'if f Miss Ramona Hafen left last Saturday morning for Los Angeles, An-geles, where she will spend the remainder of the winter with her sister, Mrs. Cecil Gates and attend at-tend school. Edward Pritchard Cottam was home over the holidays visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Cottam, before returning to his training post in northern Idaho. 'If 'if Mr. and Mrs. J. Mark Holmes and three daughters returned to their home in Logan last Saturday Satur-day ' morning, after spending the week in St. George. -V -)', .V. 'If If If Mrs. Ray Hobbs arrived Tuesday Tues-day afternoon from Prescott, Ariz., for a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Hafen. Mr. Hobbs brought her by plane as far as Las Vegas. oi. 04. if if W. W. Cannon left for Salt Lake City this (Thursday) morning morn-ing on business. He was accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Maren Anderson, mother of Mrs. Cannon, who is returning home after visiting in St. George several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Schmutz and Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Schmutz spent the holidays in Ogden at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Larson, whore they were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Seth Harper and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Schmutz and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer F.
