Show Funeral Services Held Friday for Orton Baby Funeral services were conducted in the South ward chapel Friday, Jan. 1st, at 3 p. m., for Michael Gubler Orton, aged 17 months, wno died Dec. 30, enroute to Salt Lake City for medical aid. Counselor Coun-selor Grant Whitehead of the West ward bishopric conducted the service. Music numbers included vocal solo, "Prayer Perfect", Rhoda A. Jackson; violin solo, "One Fleeting Fleet-ing Hour", Irene Everett, and duet, "In the Garden", Melba Baker and Leland Lamoreaux. Mrs. Mae A. Pace was accompanist. accom-panist. Pres. Harold S. Snow and Dr. W. J. Reichmann both offered words of consolation to the bereaved be-reaved parents and other relatives, urging that they seek comfort in prayer, and extending hope for eternity. Moody and Maiben Ashby, and the grave in the St. George city cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by Bishop Byron By-ron H. Taylor of the Center ward. Michael Gubler Orton was born in St. George, July 21, 1941, a son of Rulon and LaPreal Gubler Orton. Or-ton. The family are located in Parowan, where Mr. Orton is employed em-ployed at teaching. On Dec. 30, Michael swallowed a shelled peanut. pea-nut. He was rushed to Cedar City, but proper equipment was not available for removing the lodgment and the parents were enroute to Salt Lake City for help when the child died. He was brought to St. George for services and interment. Surviving besides the parents, is an infant brother, Grant, aged eight weeks, the material grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Gubler of St. George; the paternal grandmother, Mary E. Orton of Boulder City, and the great grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Norah L. Orton of Parowan. |
