Show B.-P. W. Club Hold Meet At Memorial Hall The reception room of the Mc-Quarrie Mc-Quarrie Memorial hall furnished the setting for the Sept. 23rd ses-son ses-son of the St. George Business-Professional Business-Professional Women, with Pres. Tillie Winsor presiding. More than 50 members and applicant members mem-bers attended. A large bowl of peach colored gladiolas centered the president's desk. Outline of the proposed year's program was jointly presented by Anne R. Price, Alice Pendleton and Mrs. B. G. Milne, the latter spicing her appeal for cooperation of members with items of original and selected verse. The general theme for the year was listed as "A Call To Arms", Mrs. Price stressing the need of following a decidedly patriotc program pro-gram and fitting each month's assignments as-signments to the trend of the time. Miss Pendleton said the community com-munity offensive must be the constant con-stant thinking and planning ahead for peace, and read the suggested subjects which included, "Wake Up America"; "What Are We Fighting"; "Our Allies"; "You, In the Post-War World"; and a summarization sum-marization of the year's programs. pro-grams. The various committees are to divert from the written program if found advisable, and the meeting sessions will bo interspersed inter-spersed with the usual dinners if possible. President Winsor announced the October 11th district conference to be held at Beaver, but stated all other traveling was to lx dispensed dis-pensed with for the duration. She read the list of new anticipated members and introduced those present, expressing appreciation for the interest evidenced in this organization. Letters from national and state officials as well as one from a former member, Virginia McArthur, Mc-Arthur, who is now in Provo, were read, and Mrs. Beth Schmutz read the salute to tho organization organiz-ation sent to its national president by Cordoll Hull, commending thorn for their activities and encouraging encourag-ing their continuation. |
