Rates Increased ! Advertising rates in the Washington County News will advance from 30c an inch to 35o an inch for all loeaJ advertisers and from 42c an inch to 49c an inch for national advertisers, starting with September 1. This advance has been made necessary due to the increasing costs of operation and due to the fact that The News has a large enough circulation to justify this increase in-crease in rates. An effort has been made to contact our local advertisers to advise ad-vise them of this increase in rates but if any advertiser has not been contacted, please take this as notice. The minimum on classified ads in the past has been 25c. This minimum is now being advanced to 30c, otherwise there is no increase in the cost of classified advertising.
