Show Miss Sybil Schulz Honored With Program At Washington County Library More than 125 children and parents par-ents joined last Thursday evening, eve-ning, June 1st, at the Washington county library in paying tribute to Miss Schulz. This recogniztion was given Miss Schulz for her contributions to the children's department de-partment of the library over the the past several years, says Miss Helen Starr, children's. librarian. Homebound much of her life. Mr. Schulz provided his daughter with the best available in children's child-ren's literature. As these books accumulated they were contributed contrib-uted to the children's department of the library and the Sybil Schulz corner was established. Funds have been supplied each year by Mr. Schulz for books to be added to this corner until the collection is valued at present at more than $500. Dramatization Presmitol Included on the evening's program pro-gram was a dramatization, "Friends In P.ookland", under the direction of Miss Starr. In this number, many of the books from the Sybil Schulz collection were introduced by the children taking part. There were also song numbers num-bers by James Yellowjacket of the Shevwit Indain reservation, giving the legend of birds and the legend of the coyote in the native language to the tom-tom music. Assisting Mr. Yellowjacket were his wife and two children who expressed appreciation for the good books in this collection. Mrs. Yellowjacket wore the buckskin buck-skin dress and moccasins she had made herself, which are elalxir-ately elalxir-ately beaded. Given a seat of honor for the program. Miss Schulz was also presented with a corsage and a basket of flowers and expressed deep appreciation for the party. |
